In astrology, there are 12 different zodiac signs and they all rank under one of the four elements: fire, earth, air, and water. When thinking about your zodiac sign, it is important to take your sign’s elements into consideration.

The fire signs are Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. The energy of a fire sign is dynamic, active, and restless. Fire is a “yang” element, which means it’s a masculine energy. This means a fire sign is impulsive, passionate, and potentially temperamental. Fire signs have a lot of energy meaning they need a lot of physical activity, movement, spontaneity, and variety.

The earth signs are Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. The energy of an earth sign is physical, tangible, and sensual. Earth signs exude “yin” element, which is feminine energy. Earth signs like to have a solid foundation and are the steadiest and most grounded of the zodiacs. Earth signs like to have routine implemented in their schedules.

The air signs are Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. While fire and earth signs are more physically motivated, air signs are more mental, cerebral, and communicative. Air signs are also a “yang” element, which if masculine energy. They are known for being “air headed.” Air signs are “out there,” but they tend to keep things interesting. Air signs thrive on connection and being social, so their personal relationships are an important factor of their health. Air can feel frantic and scattered at times, so when out of balance they need to ground themselves.

The water signs are Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces. Water signs are very emotional and attached. Water signs are known to be sensitive and have a tendency to be a bit mysterious. Water signs are feminine energy being a “yin” element. Water signs are intuitive and deep people; they are also known as the psychics of the zodiacs. They are homebodies and family-oriented. Mind-body-spirit connection is important to a water sign’s health. Water signs need to feel secure and have a “home base” that soothes them.
