National Honor Society Painting Pumpkins

National+Honor+Society+Painting+Pumpkins

This week, National Honor Society club members gathered in the art atrium to paint pumpkins for local nursing homes. The pumpkins will liven up the nursing homes by putting a smile on the patients’ faces. The students who are part of the National Honor Society had to bring their own small pumpkins and come up with whatever design they wanted to paint on the pumpkin. They painted the pumpkin between 3:00-4:00 p.m. This was a fun way to bring the students together to do something good for the community.

The paint is provided by the head of National Honor Society, Mr. Roth. Painting the pumpkins is a way to allow the seniors to express their creativity and make the patients happy. They put in their hard work in order to make sure that the pumpkin turn out well. They appreciated the time that the students put into decorating their pumpkins, which will make them like them more since it would be, “homemade”. It will liven up their living situation and put a smile on their faces.

If the students are unable to make it to the meeting, then they will be asked to either paint the pumpkin at home or just do another activity that will require service hours. All the pumpkins will be in Mr. Roth’s class before it is moved into the nursing home. Then on Thursday, October 22, Mr. Roth and the officers will bring the painted pumpkins to the local nursing homes.
