Lakewood Elections

This Tuesday, November 2, elections were held in Lakewood. Some of the polling locations included churches or Lakewood schools such as Emerson Elementary and Garfield Middle School. These elections were to elect City Council At-Large, Municipal Judge, and Lakewood Board of Education. The results were posted November 3:

City Council At-Large: Sarah Kepple (4,140 votes)

Municipal Judge: Tess Neff (4,092 votes)

Lakewood Board of Education: Nora Katzenberger (5,066 votes)

Election day is a long process with workers who are sworn to confidentiality and privacy. Setting up and cleaning up is an important process because of the gravity of an election. On election day, polls were open from 6:30 am-7:30 pm. This is always the time polls are open to give people time before and after work/school to vote.

If you are 18, make sure you exercise your right and register to vote in Lakewood. Visit https://vote.gov and follow the steps to register for the next election. This will help you figure out your precinct and voting location to make sure you attend the right polling location.

Overall, exercising your right to vote and learning more about how our leaders affect our lives personally is very important to our democracy and election day!
