This week Netflix stopped streaming “Glee,” leaving fans very disappointed. On Dec. 1, “Glee” was removed after being on Netflix for many years. “Glee” is a show about a teacher who creates a glee club where different students can find their talents and themselves while also making new friends. The glee club has all different types of people in different social rankings in high school. Everyone who watches it can feel represented by the characters. The reason is unknown as to why Netflix removed the show. It can be guessed that Netflix’s rights to stream the show have expired.

The Lakewood Times interviewed a few students at Lakewood High School to get an understanding of how this is affecting fans of the show. “It’s devastating because it was my comfort show,” says a senior who would like to remain anonymous. Many people seek comfort in certain shows as something to always have playing in the background while doing anything. For some students, this includes homework. It can be difficult to switch to another show after having the same one available for so long. Another senior explained how over the years she grew an emotional attachment to the show. “It probably made me who I am right now,” she says. “Glee” helped her find her own passion for music, which she pursued at Lakewood High School.

Don’t worry, “Glee” isn’t gone forever. You can still stream all six seasons of “Glee” on Amazon Prime Video with a subscription. “Glee” is also available to be purchased on Apple TV, YouTube, Vudu, and Google Play Movies & TV.
