On April 1st, 2nd, and 3rd this year, the Lakewood Congressional Church put on their production of “Shrek! The Musical”. The production consisted of any and all Lakewood youth residents who wanted to take part in the musical. The leaders of the production made it a rule that if you auditioned, you got a part. That lead to a larger cast and gave students the confidence to perform their best and audition for other plays.

The musical starred Alexis Lindsay as Shrek and Amy Pilgrim as Fiona. The two worked incredibly hard and clearly poured their hearts into the show. It was obvious that they cared greatly about the production and it’s cast based off of the time and energy they put into the show alone. Their hard work did not go unnoticed as all three shows sold out and packed the house every night.

The show was totally worth the watch. All of the cast members worked very hard and showed their commitment and dedication. The show was full of different talents from singing to dancing to costume making. All in all it was a great show and I think everyone is very sad to see it end.
