LHS Spirit Week!

LHS Spirit Week!
thepioneerpress.org

Next week at Lakewood High School is Spirit Week! This week will include five different themes, chosen by their own class officers, and finish with a pep rally on Friday. LHS typically has three spirit weeks, one for homecoming, one for winter formal, and one for prom. This is the last spirit week of the year.

Spirit Week is starting Monday April 25th with music/concert shirt day. It is encouraged for students to wear their favorite band tees or shirts from a concert they have attended. This is a fun day to share your music taste and find those who share similar interests.

Grab your sun hats and sunglasses because Tuesday is a fan favorite, beach day. Beach theme usually kicks off Lakewood’s first football game and we’re bringing it back. Students are expected to wear their leis and Hawaiian shirts. If the weather is nice enough, sport your flip flops and shorts.

On Wednesday we’re throwing it back. On decade day show off your favorite decade through your style. Whether that decade be the 2000s and impersonating Paris Hilton or even dressing like your parents in the 80s, it fits the theme. Some people have gone as far as dressing as cavemen.

We’re going into the jungle on Thursday. On April 28th, students are asked to wear animal print or dress as if you were on a safari. This can include bucket hats, khaki shorts or sunglasses.

Friday will be class color day because of the pep rally at the end of the day. Each grade has a different color to differentiate the classes during the assembly. Seniors will be dressed in purple, Juniors will be dressed in white, Sophomores will be yellow, and Freshman will be Gray. The classes will compete against each other during several different games such as dizzy bat and tug of tar.

Spirit Week at Lakewood is a fun and festive week while anticipating a school event. Next week is getting ready for prom on May 7th, the week after. If you don’t have clothes to participate in themes, this weekend is your chance to plan your outfit.
