Light Up Lakewood Scholarship for Juniors

JUNIORS: On Saturday, Dec. 3, LakewoodAlive is holding its 16th annual Light Up Lakewood here in Downtown Lakewood on Detroit from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. As part of their commitment to fostering and sustaining vibrant and welcoming neighborhoods, Light Up Lakewood is partnering with David Stein, the owner of Avenue Home, to provide two $500 scholarships to Lakewood Juniors in the 2022-23 school year. This scholarship celebrates community service, pride in Lakewood, and commitment to further strengthening the community.

Applications for the scholarship are due on Friday, Nov. 11 by 5:00 p.m. The application must be completely filled out to be eligible for the scholarship. With the application, you will need two letters of recommendation; these are required.

Applications can be emailed, mailed, or dropped off at the LakewoodAlive office at 14650 Detroit Avenue, #LL40.

The applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges who will narrow down the list to conduct interviews. The two winners will be crowned at Avenue Home on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 3:00 p.m. and be a part of the event’s festivities later in the evening.
