Preseason Boys Basketball Interview

Preseason+Boys+Basketball+Interview

Basketball is on its way and fans are extremely excited. Here at Lakewood High School, the winter blues hit the students pretty hard. Dealing with the cold, midterms, and lack of Vitamin D, this makes the winter last way too long. Senior Maddie Kratz told the Lakewood Times that, “As hard as the winter can be, going to all the winter sports games especially basketball with friends makes the time fly faster and it’s never a dull moment.”

Basketball season is an exciting time of year for all members involved – players, coaches, parents, students, and the overall community. Games are filled with lots of cheering, laughter, and fun theme ideas coming from the student section, who are all just there to enjoy the moments.

The Lakewood Times interviewed senior Myles Harper, who is a 3-year varsity player and captain. When asked about his views for this season, he said, “We have put a lot of work in during the off season and there is a lot of potential within all the boys. We had a solid season last year but we know there is so much more to come for this one. We have 3 sophomores coming to varsity who show a lot of dedication – Lucas Seguine, Stephen McAuliffe, and Luke Vannucci. They are going to bring another level to this team, and I cannot wait.” We later then asked him how he feels about it being his senior season, in which he responded, “I am so very excited to have one more run with my boys. Although, it is very bittersweet because I’ve been playing this game my whole life.”

The boys are ready for the season, so get ready too Rangers! Make sure to come and support at all home games this year. More information will be provided later but they will typically play on Tuesday nights and Friday nights with varsity starting at 7pm.
