On November 14th Lakewood is honoring veterans at Lakewood Park. This annual event is taking place at 11:00 am at the Veterans Memorial at Lakewood Park. The address is 14532 Lake Avenue. Lakewood is putting tribute to the men and women who served our country in the armed forces. To start off the event they will begin with the Presentation of colors followed by the National Anthem performed by the Four Vet Quartet. 

The keynote speaker will be First Sergeant Patrick Foye. He served as Active Duty for 4 and a half years. The remainder of his 20 year career in the United States Army Reserves. First Sergeant Foye was deployed to three continents with service in Haiti, Bosnia, and Afghanistan. He received numerous awards over his military career including the Army Achievement of Medal (WOC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and Bronze Star Medal. Mr. Foye graduated from Kent State University. He is also a retired Lakewood Police Officer. He had many great accomplishments while doing so. 

This Ceremony is open to the public. Also, this year’s event will include the Lakewood High School Band and a 21-gun salute by the Joint Veterans Honor Guard. Following the ceremony there will be coffee and donuts will be offered in the Women’s Club Pavillion at Lakewood Park. If you aren’t busy on Monday, stop over to Lakewood Park and show your support for veterans who served our country.
