Senior Calendar and Reminders

In the next few months, seniors have many big events coming up. Prom will be on April 29 from 7-11 p.m. at The Music Box Supper Club. Guests who are currently enrolled in another high school or recent LHS graduates are permitted to attend, but a Guest form must be signed by the guest, their guardian, and their principal with the school’s seal. Mrs. Morgan must meet with any guest over 20 years old. LHS 9, 10, and 11th-grade students are considered guests and are also required to complete a guest form. No tickets will be available at the door. Paid parking is available at the Nautica/Aquarium lot, however, LHS will be providing buses from LHS to the venue and back to LHS at no cost. The buses will run from LHS to the Music Box approximately every ½ hour beginning at 6 p.m. and ending at 7:30 p.m. Buses will start running back to LHS at 9:30 p.m. and the last bus will leave the Music Box at 11 p.m. sharp.

After Prom will be directly following Prom from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. at LHS, guests are also required to file guest forms for After Prom. LHS reserves the right to revoke privileges for prom and After Prom for any reason deemed appropriate.

Senior T-Shirt Day will be Wednesday, May 3. Seniors are encouraged to wear their class of 2023 t-shirts that they purchased in February. The following Wednesday, May 10, seniors are encouraged to wear their prospective college, armed forces, or vocational program. The Senior Recognition Assembly will take place at 10:15 a.m. and end at 11:15 a.m. in the Civic Auditorium; it is open to all seniors and parents will be receiving an invitation to attend.

The last day of school for seniors will be May 18. Seniors are encouraged to dress nicely for their last day. The 2023 Senior Reception will be at 3 p.m. in the cafeteria, with refreshments, on the last day. This will be one of the last chances the class of 2023 will have to socialize with each other before moving on to bigger and better things! And it’s free!

Commencement rehearsal will occur June 1, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the LHS cafeteria, gym, and Civic Auditorium. Attendance is mandatory for all students to participate in the commencement ceremony and receive commencement tickets. Commencement tickets will be distributed on the morning of rehearsal; each graduate will receive four tickets. Requests for two extra tickets begin Tuesday, May 2. Any requests made before this time will not be considered. A link will be posted to the Bookroom webpage and the extra tickets will be distributed on a first-requested, first-served basis. Everyone, including children, must have a ticket. It is suggested that, due to the length of the ceremony, parents consider not bringing children under the age of 5.

The commencement ceremony will take place June 4 at 4 p.m. in the Civic Auditorium; graduates must report to the LHS cafeteria for final preparations with their caps and gowns at 12:45 p.m. Only students participating in the ceremony may enter at this time, guests with tickets may arrive at the Civic Auditorium at 1 p.m. It is highly recommended that families determine a meeting spot to reconnect at the end of the ceremony. Each graduate will get a professional photo taken while receiving their diploma. For ceremonial purposes, only diploma covers will be handed out in the ceremony. The actual diplomas will be mailed to your home on or approximately June 14, 2023.
