    Monster Babysitters

    Seven-Month-Old Finn
    Seven-Month-Old Finn

Hope and Benjamin Jordan moved to Charleston, South Carolina, for work. They have a toddler, Finn. They knew they were going to need some outside help. This started the search for a trustworthy babysitter.

It is never easy for any parents to leave their children in the care of a stranger. The couple was relieved when they found Alexis Khan. She is 22 years-old. They took liking to her immediately.

After Khan passed all the necessary background checks, she was hired to look after the seven-month-old. “We felt like Alexis was a good fit at the time. In addition to passing all checks into her history, Khan had babysitting jobs before.” husband Benjamin recalled.

Five months into the arrangement, things had started to change. As well as caring for baby Finn, the Jordan’s’ had a dog, Killian. Killian however was not as big fan of Khan. The German shepherd/black Labrador mix, was normally a calm and gentle dog. But his behavior began to change.

He started to become very protective of Finn, especially around the babysitter.“He was very aggressive towards her,” Benjamin told WCSC-TV. “A few times we actually had to physically restrain our dog from going towards her.” This lead to the decision to record Khan.

What they expected to hear when they played the recording back was Khan being hostile toward the dog. What was actually heard  was worse. This was something that the Jordan’s were not ready for. First, she could be heard losing her temper with the baby.

She shouts, telling him to shut up. Things only got progressively worse as the recording continued. Finn crying in distress at the situation turned into a cry of pain. They heard what sounded like Khan slapping the child.

This is what their dog had been trying to tell them. In utter disbelief, the parents immediately took the child to a local hospital to be checked over.“We just could not believe it,” Benjamin told ABC News. “Who knows how many children she has abused or how many more she would have had it not been for our dog?”
