Personal Review
For as long as I can remember, Disney has been a part of my life. So, what better way to spend my 18th birthday than on a Disney cruise? This sailing went to Disney’s new private island, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, and Nassau, Bahamas. I first went to Lookout Cay in June and loved it, so when my family was choosing our next cruise itinerary, we had to pick Lookout again.
I think the most memorable part of a Disney cruise experience is the friends I make. It helps them stand out more to me. This time was no different; my friend group was small but mighty. Since I’m now 18, Disney has a club for older teens out of Vibe called the 1820 Society. It was nice to have a more down-to-earth friend group that wasn’t so focused on running around all night. Sitting and chatting with them about their lives late into the evening was lovely.
This cruise was special because I got to experience all of the adult-exclusive activities I hadn’t done before. I got a Rainforest Room pass in the incredible spa, and I had my first spa treatment too! Since it was my birthday, my mom, grandma, and I celebrated by eating at Palo. We went for brunch, which was terrific. You could practically order the whole menu if you wanted (I totally would have, but I just couldn’t). The standout dish I had was the Parmesan-crusted chicken and, of course, the strawberry Mickey waffles.
I think Disney cruises will always be something I enjoy. The whole atmosphere is what will draw me back. Being 18 and still interested in cruising with Disney shows the great job they did with the ships. Overall, the ships are a show of fantastic engineering and Disney magic.
Overall Review of the ship
The Disney Fantasy cruise ship is a floating paradise for families, offering a magical experience tailored to guests of all ages. One of the ship’s standout features is its impressive kids’ areas. The Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab provide young guests with immersive play spaces where they can engage in themed activities, from meeting beloved Disney characters to participating in hands-on science experiments. Trained staff supervise all clubs, allowing parents to relax while their children explore the adventures designed just for them.
Dining onboard the Disney Fantasy is a treat for the whole family, with a diverse array of restaurants catering to every palate. Guests can enjoy rotational dining, which allows them to experience multiple themed restaurants throughout their voyage. Notable venues include the enchanted atmosphere of Animator’s Palate, where the dining experience comes to life with animation; the dining room starts in black and white and gradually moves into a variety of colors. The elegant Remy offers a sophisticated French dining experience for adults, and Palo provides an exquisite experience with an Italian feel. There are plenty of quick-service options for casual bites, including the beloved ice cream spot called Eye Scream and a quick-service pizza spot.
Entertainment on a Disney cruise is unparalleled, with Broadway-style shows and spectacular live performances that captivate audiences of all ages. Each ship’s crew performs different plays, providing unique entertainment depending on the vessel. Entertainment doesn’t stop with the Broadway shows; it also extends to movies. Disney films are shown at two locations on the ship: one is in the movie theater called the Buena Vista Theatre, and the other is FunnelVision. The Buena Vista Theatre shows mostly new releases and some classics, while FunnelVision presents a variety of Disney films.
Disney Fantasy staterooms offer a magical blend of comfort and whimsy, designed to immerse guests in enchanting themes inspired by beloved Disney stories. Each stateroom is thoughtfully crafted with vibrant decor, plush bedding, and family-friendly amenities, ensuring a delightful experience for all ages. With options ranging from cozy inside rooms to luxurious suites with stunning views of the ocean, Disney Fantasy staterooms truly bring the spirit of Disney to life on the high seas.
