Friday, February 7th:
On Friday the Lakewood Rangers boys’ basketball team fought fiercely against the Valley Forge Patriots and claimed victory with a final score of 76-50. Senior Julian Sayre was a starting player in the game for the first time this season. Although the Rangers struggled at the beginning of the game, with the Patriots winning 14-9 by the end of the first quarter, they easily turned the pressure onto the Patriots with Senior Lucas Seguine scoring 21 points and Senior Luke Vannucci scoring 14 points. Their next and final home game will be on Tuesday, February 11th. This game will highlight the team’s eight seniors with it being their senior night, so don’t miss it!
Saturday, February 8th:
Saturday morning the Lakewood Rangers boys’ wrestling team traveled to Westlake High School to face off in the Cleveland West Conference Wrestling Championship against Bay, Normandy, Rocky River, Valley Forge, Westlake, Buckey, and North Olmsted. Congratulations to our Lakewood wrestling boys for doing a fantastic job.
Later at noon, the Lakewood Rangers girls’ basketball team celebrated their seniors with a decisive win against Valley Forge with a final score of 58-14. Shoutout to seniors Ava Cuffari, Elizabeth Doup, and Madison Comer. Congratulations on your final season! Tonight is their final home game against North Olmsted Eagles. Be sure to show up in support!
Sunday, February 9th:
Yesterday morning the Lakewood Rangers girls’ wrestling team faced off in the Port Clinton tournament at Port Clinton High School. The girls did a fantastic job with some of them placing 3rd.
Shoutout to our hockey team as yesterday five of our varsity hockey players were recognized as all-league team members in the Blue division conference. Congratulations to Seniors Ronan Johnson and Tyler Volcansek for receiving 1st team, Seniors Ryan Sterling and Gavin Beisel for receiving 2nd team, and Senior Camden Fegely for receiving an honorable mention. Also, a special congratulations to coach Andy Senkovic for receiving coach of the year!
