This Weekend:
Over the weekend, Senior Charieon Doxley competed in the state indoor meet in the long jump and 60m hurdles. She placed 2nd in the state for the long jump, jumping 18 feet and setting a school record. Doxley also placed 8th in the state for 60m hurdles, setting a new school record with a time of 9.08. Congratulations to Charieon and her great final season at LHS!

Senior Zayna Muntaser competed in the state wrestling meet. In a tough battle, she placed second and is the 2025 state runner-up. Congratulations to Zayna and her amazing final season at LHS!
On Saturday, the Lakewood Cheer LHS and LMS competition teams competed at AmeriCheer’s March Madness Championship competition. The girls left the school early in the morning and traveled to Centerburg High School near Columbus, OH, where the event was being hosted. The high school team brought home multiple awards including 1st place in their division, the high point award for earning the highest score for the game-day division, and a paid bid that will allow the team to compete in The One Finals cheer competition for free. The middle school team also secured 1st place in their division. This competition was Lakewood Cheer’s last competition for this season, if they do not attend The One Finals competition in May, and marks the end of their 2024-2025 journey. On Saturday, March 22nd, they will be having their 2025-2026 season tryout meeting from 9:30 am to around 10 am in the LHS cafeteria. This meeting will be for anyone in grades 6-11 interested in joining Lakewood Cheer for the next school year. Congratulations to Lakewood Cheer for an outstanding season!
