Friday, May 9th:
Friday night, Lakewood Baseball took on the North Ridgeville Rangers at home. With 2 points from the 3rd inning and 1 from the 4th, the Lakewood Rangers took victory against the North Ridgeville Rangers. Lakewood didn’t let its guard down once against North Ridgeville, leading to the final score of 3-0. On Monday, May 12th, Lakewood Baseball will travel to North Olmsted High School to play against the Eagles.
On Friday, the Lakewood Varsity Track teams competed in the 2025 Bell Invitational, hosted by Rocky River, against Aurora, Avon Lake, Bay Village, Elyria, Midview, Rocky River, and Westlake. Lakewood Girls’ Track team placed 4th in the girls division with 67.50 points, and the Lakewood Boys’ Track team placed 5th in the boys division with 74.50 points. Congratulations to Charieon Doxley for being named athlete of the meet after coming in first place in 3 events, including the 100m hurdles, long jump, and the 300m hurdles. The Lakewood Varsity Track teams will compete again on Tuesday, May 13th, for the first day of the CWC Championship meet.
Saturday, May 10th:
On Saturday, the boys’ lacrosse team traveled to Avon Lake High School to play against the Shoremen. Unfortunately, the Rangers fell short to the Shoremen with the final score being 3-16, with 2 goals from Senior Malachai Davis and 1 from Senior Avery Holt. As this was the team’s last regular-season game, the boys’ lacrosse team will play in their first playoff game on Thursday, May 15th, against the Green High School Bulldogs.
Saturday afternoon, the girls’ lacrosse team played against the Padua Franciscan High School Bruins at home. Lakewood put up their best fight, but it wasn’t enough as the Bruins took the win with the final score being 3-17. With this being the team’s last regular-season game, the girls will have their first playoff game, and it is currently being decided which team they will play in said game.
Monday, May 12th:
Last night, Lakewood Baseball traveled to North Olmsted High School to play against the Eagles. The Rangers easily took victory with the final score being 4-2. Lakewood Baseball will play again tonight, Tuesday, May 13th, at home for their Senior Night against North Olmsted, where they’ll be celebrating their 7 seniors.
Yesterday, Lakewood Softball traveled to face off against the Eastlake North High School Rangers. In a tough battle, Lakewood fell short with a final score of 3-6. Tonight, Tuesday, May 13th, the team will play away against Magnificat High School.
