The girls’ tennis team hosted the Blue Devils from Brunswick at their home courts. Unfortunately, the Rangers lost, 4-1. Seniors Maya Trempe and Abriana Heinz won their doubles match, but it was not enough. The Rangers will be back in action all day today as they compete in the CWC tournament.
Lakewood’s girls’ volleyball team had a great game against Westlake on Tuesday night, beating the Demons in three quick sets. Lakewood has been on a roll the past week, winning its sixth straight game. The From the Sidelines’ “Who Put in the Hustle” award goes to senior Joey Lautzenhiser for great digs all game and a very consistent serve-receive rate. Another notable performance comes from senior Rowan Elyko, who also played excellent defense throughout the match. You can catch the Lakewood volleyball team next Thursday at 6 p.m. in Bay Village.
