Doc Lanky’s is a sports bar and restaurant in Lakewood committed to bringing the community solid local entertainment and food. The establishment serves classic bar-style food, such as burgers and wings, with numerous TVs throughout the restaurant, constantly playing major sports events or other forms of entertainment. Recently, Doc Lanky’s updated its kitchen and menu, removing pizza from the lineup. However, the remaining options on the menu are still appealing, offering a great mix of bar favorites and high-quality food.
Doc Lanky’s was founded by brothers Mitch and Braden Eyerman, who have lived in Lakewood most of their lives and wanted to create more than just a bar. The restaurant offers a variety of foods and is the perfect place for a casual night out or a special occasion. It provides an accessible, casual environment that attracts people seeking more than a typical bar or pub.

The brothers were committed to building a community, not just operating a restaurant. Doc Lanky’s offers a variety of entertainment options, including pool tables, TVs, and jukeboxes, to keep the atmosphere fun and fresh. Bartender Nick Buck said, “There is only one other bar in Lakewood that has three pool tables. I feel like this adds something to the neighborhood that isn’t what is currently around.” Doc Lanky’s aims to provide the community with more than just a restaurant, but a place anyone can go to relax, grab some food, and have a good time.
Doc Lanky’s has a unique menu and hosts a variety of different events throughout the week, keeping the restaurant lively all the time. “I don’t think there are a lot of bars on this side of Lakewood that do what we do, which is very cheap drinks,” Buck said. “We have an industry night every Tuesday, so it’s 20% off for people who also work in this type of industry.” In addition to promotional events, the restaurant hosts trivia nights on Monday and offers numerous other events and specials on its menu.

The establishment was decorated beautifully for Halloween and the spooky season. When you stepped inside, you were greeted by a clown and caution tape. Further into the restaurant, you will see the pool tables on the right and the bar on the left. The bar had spiderwebs hanging from the ceiling, and purple lights illuminated the pool tables. The staff’s effort was clear in the effort put into the decorations and the care they had for creating a fun, immersive atmosphere.
Not only does the staff care about the atmosphere and environment, but they also prioritize how customers feel. They ensure that you are seated comfortably as soon as they walk in and get to their tables, asking for orders almost immediately. Within minutes, they return with food and check if anything else is needed.
Doc Lanky’s food is top-notch, offering a variety of bar food and regular dishes. All of their food is locally sourced, and everything comes out quickly. Head chef Jason McCreery said, “We make everything fresh and from scratch in-house, not cutting any corners.” Their food arrives hot and full of flavor, making it so that any customer can tell the food is fresh and made to order.
Doc Lanky’s is a newer restaurant in Lakewood, having opened just over a year ago, and is already in full swing, drawing in many customers. The restaurant has built its customer base not only with its food but also by fostering a community. Owner Braden Eyerman said, “We did a one-year anniversary party for all the customers that have been supporting us, for the friends and families that have been coming in here and helping things get off the ground.” Doc Lanky’s is proof of Lakewood’s strong community support for local businesses and expanding the community in a positive way.
