Hollywood celebrated its biggest night for movies on Sunday, March 2, known as the Oscars. The Oscars is an award ceremony that honors movies in different categories, from Best Picture to Best Supporting Actress and more!
The Oscars include a red carpet runway before the ceremony, where singers, actors/actresses, fashion designers, directors, etc., show off their stunning outfits.

Ariana Grande stepped on the carpet in a Schiaparelli gown designed by Daniel Roseberry. The look brought out a Galinda Wicked vibe, with a sculpted soft pink top, connected to a long voluminous skirt made with sparkled nude tulle.
Then Ariana opened the Oscars while wearing another outfit designed by Daniel Roseberry. It was a long, deep red dress with sequins all over it, giving the look a shimmery vibe. The sides of the dress featured red tulle, and towards the back, there was a 3D red glass heel that brought out more of the Wicked Vibe. Her makeup look featured her brand of R.E.M Beauty.
Cynthia Erivo had outstanding outfits during the Oscars. She walked out on the red carpet with a Louis Vuitton dress designed by Hattie McDaniel. The dress was an emerald, deep green color on a long gown with sleek lines and a thick leather coat. Towards the top, there was a big bow shape following around the dress.
A sculpted, sharp collar around her neck brought the whole look together; this look brought the Emerald City of Wicked to life.
Then Cynthia had an outfit change for her opening of the Oscars. She wore a white-gowned dress with flower accents. The dress featured silk throughout the main part of the dress, and then at the bottom, there was luxurious tulle.
As mentioned, the Oscars opened with outstanding performances by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Ariana performed Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Cynthia sang Home, and then they both outstandingly sang Defying Gravity together.
The movie Wicked had a big night ahead. It won awards for Best Costume Design and Best Production Design.
Paul Tazewell is the designer for all Wicked costumes and won his first Oscar for Best Costume Design. History was made on March 2 at the Oscars; Tazewell is the first black man to win Best Costume Design.
Nathan Crowley, production designer, and Lee Sandales, set decorator of Wicked, won the Best Production Design award.

Anora had a huge night at the Oscars, winning five awards. Actress Mikey Madison wore a Dior gown designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri. The gown was made of long pink satin with a pink bow towards the top of the skirt and a black velvet top that brought the dress an old Hollywood vibe look.
Mikey had such an impactful performance in the movie Anora, winning her the award for Best Actress. Sean Baker, director of Anora, won a total of 4 awards. He took home Oscars for Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Film Editing.
The Brutalist, directed by Brady Corbet, took home a big Oscar. Adrien Brody earned the award for Best Actor for his role in this movie.
This outstanding film brought home 3 Academy Awards, including Best Original Score (won by Daniel Blumberg), Best Cinematography (won by Lol Crawley), and then Best Actor.
Emilia Pérez brought home an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress by Zoe Saldaña. Zoe stepped on the red carpet in an outfit designed by Petra Flannery.
She was wearing a Saint Laurent skirt layered in satin. Her dress was a deep red color at the bottom, and she had a fishnet sequined top towards the top of her dress.

Kieran Culkin won his first Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in A Real Pain directed by Jesse Eisenberg.
Other amazing films won tons of awards at the Oscars. Including No Other Land for Best Documentary Feature (won by Yuval Abraham, Basel Adra, Rachel Szor, and Hamdan Ballal), The Only Girl In The Orchestra for Best Documentary Short Subject (won by Lisa Remington and Molly O’Brien), I’m Not A Robot for Best Live Action Short Film (won by Victoria Warmerdam and Trent), Flow for Best Animated Feature (won by Ron Dyens, Gints Zilbalodis, Gregory Zalcman, and Matiss Kaza).
Conclave, Dune: Part Two, and The Substance all brought home Academy Awards. Dune: Part Two brought home two awards, Best Sound (won by Richard King, Ron Bartlett, Doug Hemphill, and Gareth John) and Best Visual Effects (won by Stephen James, Rhys Salcombe, Gerd Nefzer, and Paul Lambert).
The Substance took home the award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling (won by Stéphanie Gullion, Pierre Oliver Persin, and Marilyne Scarselli.)
Then Conclave brought home the award for Best Adapted Screenplay (won by Peter Straughan).
El Mal, I’m Still Here, and In the Shadows of the Cypress also took home Oscars. El Mal won Best Original Song (won by Jacques Audiard, Camille, and Clément Ducol), I’m Still Here won Best International Feature Film (won by Walter Salles), and In the Shadows of the Cypress won Best Animated Short Film (won by Shirin Sohani and Hossein Molayemi).
Every star at the Oscars looked stunning, with every outfit and every performance. The Oscars this year were truly incredible to watch. The Oscars blow viewers away each year with a fantastic host, and this year’s host was Conan O’Brien. Conan had amazing speeches, hilarious jokes, and great performances throughout the night.
The movies throughout 2024 were amazingly directed and edited and had such meaningful actors/actresses. The film industry never fails to make an impact on our generations. Each actor/actress did an amazing job this year, and the movies to come will be amazing!
