Wednesday Sept. 10
Last night, the boys’ soccer team traveled to Westlake High School to face a top-ranked Demons team. Despite leading 3-1 at halftime, the Rangers fell 5-3 in a competitive match. From The Sidelines’ daily “Who Put the Hustle In Award” goes to Sophomore Ilyas Goolagha with 2 goals in the back-and-forth match. Junior Liam Craciun also got after it, scoring a goal of his own in the affair. The boys will have a chance to bounce back at home Saturday against Painesville Riverside.
The girls’ tennis team was also in action last night against the Demons in a home match. Unfortunately, their 4-match winning streak was snapped as they lost by a score of 3-2. Senior Maya Trempe came out on top of an intense battle to help the Rangers’ cause. The JV girls also took a loss with valiant efforts and a few match wins. The ladies will be back in action tonight at Strongsville High School.
Lakewood’s very own girls’ soccer team took on Westlake at their beautiful home field, Garfield Middle School. After a tough battle, Lakewood girls’ soccer ultimately lost 6-1. Freshman Teagen Sefchick scored our sole goal, exemplifying the Rangers’ hard-fighting spirit. The Rangers will play at home against Open Door on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. Good luck, ladies!!!
