Lakewood football played Bay Village for senior night, losing 42-7. This game makes the team 3-4. From the Sidelines’ “Who Put in the Hustle” award goes to senior Sam Hoy for his work ethic and playing both sides of the ball. Lakewood’s final regular-season game is Friday, Oct. 24, at Buckeye.
Saturday, Oct. 18
On Saturday, the boys’ and girls’ cross country teams competed in their district championships at Lorain County Community College. The day was successful for the Rangers, with the boys finishing sixth out of 20 teams and advancing to regionals. Four girls qualified for regionals individually: junior Mady Lee, junior Ruby McEwen, junior Luna Marquez-Potts, and junior Chelsea Payne. Junior Porter Gilliland placed second in the conference individually on the boys’ side and earned the “Who Put the Hustle in Award.” The boys’ team and the girls who qualified will compete Saturday, Oct. 25, at Boardman High School in the Northeast Regional Championship.
