Valentine’s Day is celebrated with love, friendship, and showing admiration for the people in your life, and what better way to celebrate this love than with food? A sweet treat can make a day about love even better.
Whether you prefer to make your own treats or buy them from a store, there are countless options to have the cutest foods on Valentine’s Day. Freshman Laine Sheehan is a big fan of Feb 14.
“My favorite part is getting to see all my friends, and sharing yummy food with them,” Sheehan said.
Lakewood has many tasty Valentine’s treats, starting with Crumbl Cookies. This bakery rotates its flavors every week, offering a wide variety. If you aren’t into the current selection, wait until the following week to see their new choices.
During the week of Valentine’s, Crumbl offers three festive options. There’s a Valentine Confetti cookie, a soft sugar cookie with pink sprinkles mixed inside for a fun confetti effect, making it delicious and cute. Crumbl Cookies also has a Valentine’s Original Ft. M&M’s candies, their classic cookie sprinkled with pink and red M&M’s for a pop of chocolate flavor.
In addition to their cookies, Crumbl also offers a self-serve strawberry cake. As the name states, it’s a moist strawberry cake with creamy frosting.
These delicacies are available from Feb 10-15. There is a Crumbl located on Detroit Avenue for a convenient option, but there are many other locations around the county to satisfy any cravings.

If you’re craving a refreshing drink, Starbucks has some tasty options. Try the Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Crème Frappuccino. It’s a delicious blend of strawberry puree, milk, and Frappuccino chips. It’s topped with more strawberry puree, whipped cream, and a drizzle of mocha sauce.
“The flavors were really good together,” freshman Enid Liou said.
Another great option is the Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie Cold Brew. Vanilla syrup sweetens this cold brew, topped with chocolate-hazel cream, cold foam, and chocolate cookie crumbles.
A Red Velvet Cake Blizzard is one of Dairy Queen’s Valentine’s specials. It’s a perfect sweet treat, coming in multiple sizes. It features DQ’s classic soft serve with red velvet cake pieces and cream cheese icing incorporated in.
Although a blizzard is for one person, DQ has a treat for two: a Cupid Cake. It’s a heart-shaped cake with flavors similar to those of the blizzard. The outer layer is vanilla and cream cheese icing soft serve. Its inner layer is red velvet cake pieces with heart-shaped sprinkles decorating the top.
With two Lakewood locations, Dunkin’ Donuts offers festive treats for a fun snack. Whether you’re in the mood for a donut or drink, they have countless options to make this day extra sweet.
Cupid’s Choice Specialty Donut is filled with Bavarian Kreme and topped with strawberry icing and Valentine’s sprinkles. The Brownie Batter Specialty Donut is filled with brownie batter buttercream and topped with chocolate icing and heart sprinkles.
“The Brownie Batter is my personal favorite,” a Dunkin’ Donuts employee said. “I love the creamy chocolate inside.”
Chick-fil-A, another popular brand, made heart-shaped trays for this holiday, containing the food inside a cute platter. Many things can go in the trays, including chicken nuggets, Chick-n-Minis, brownies, and cookies.
“I love their heart-shaped boxes,” Sheehan said.

Going to a convenience store is also a great way to find yummy Valentine’s food. Almost every store has a vast holiday section carrying some of the tastiest candies. From pink M&M’s, classic conversation hearts, and chocolate, there are so many options to choose from. Many baked goods, like heart cookies, can be found in the bakery section or packaged, such as Little Debbie Valentine’s specials.
Not only are there Valentine’s sweets but also savory options. Costco, in particular, has heart-shaped ravioli, and Giant Eagle carries the Kraft Lunch Pizzakit Heart Box.
Countless DIY treats can be made on this holiday. You can create your own heart-shaped pizzas, cookies, or even chocolate-covered strawberries, or there are plenty of different recipes to craft yourself.
Valentine’s Day is full of love and treats, so fill your stomach with wonderful goodies. Whether you’re getting something for a loved one or yourself, eating these treats can make the day even more sweet.
