Sofia’s Kitchen and Bar harps on the little details, allowing them to create impressive dishes that stand out to their customers. At Sofia’s Kitchen and Bar, they make it their mission to get better at one thing a day, whether it be communication, the food, or the service. They make sure every employee is constantly improving so that the restaurant itself is continuously growing and getting better.
Sofia’s Kitchen and Bar is one of the friendliest restaurants in Lakewood, creating bonds with customers and showing they care about the experience created at the restaurant. Sofia’s Kitchen and Bar is welcoming to all their customers, making them feel at home.

The restaurant’s interior balances fun modern pop with cool tones and beautiful light fixtures. The walls feature a variety of pictures of their family and kids. The back patio area features plants and lighting that tie in with the rest of the restaurant. The clean design shows how much effort they put into every detail of the restaurant.
“Just seeing the windows as you walk by the restaurant, it looks like a super aesthetic and good-looking place to eat at,” said customer Zoltan Revy.
Andrew Revy, the owner of Sofia’s Kitchen and Bar, discussed the restaurant’s origin, which began in the space formerly housing Salt (17625 Detroit Ave.), next to the Beck Center for the Arts. “We created Sofia’s Kitchen and named it after our daughter Sofia, who’s a Lakewood High School student,” Revy said.
Sofia’s Kitchen and Bar focuses on constant improvement. The restaurant uses spreadsheets to look at data and organize different parts of the restaurant. “There is a lot of time I spend with spreadsheets,” said worker Ben Lebovic. “I have joked that my favorite part about bartending is using Microsoft Excel.”
The restaurant has a very unique and diverse menu. They put immense time and effort into making sure everything on the menu is perfect and something that truly catches people’s attention. They make it very clear that their menu is of high quality and elevated food.
“Something that sets us apart is we’re running a very rigorous scratch kitchen for everything we can produce in-house. I think for the most part there’s a lot of integrity, and I guess conscious choice made in selecting ingredients and kind of curating the menu,” Lebovic said.

Although they don’t make everything in-house, the restaurant still works to feature local products. “We work really hard to use as many local vendors and produce as possible…there are some really well-known dishes, but with a slight twist to them,” Revy said.
Sofia’s Kitchen is Lakewood-owned and operated. The Revy family lives in Lakewood, also owning another local business, Immigrant Son Brewery. They opened Sofia’s, knowing they would still be supporting small businesses in Lakewood. The Revy family wants to ensure their business not only represents Lakewood but also improves the community.
Sofia’s Kitchen and Bar is a high-quality restaurant with a constantly expanding menu, great vibe, and overall amazing service. The establishment gets better every time customers return. The Revy family and employees of Sofia’s Kitchen and Bar continue doing everything they can to make sure the restaurant improves day by day, and that every time someone comes in, they get a better experience than the last.
