Last Thursday, the girls played against West Geauga in a non-conference game at home. The girls dropped this match, 8-2. Senior Gwen Hongosh scored a goal as well as dished an assist to Senior Vashti Arrow.
Friday, April 17
The boys and girls track team took on a fierce slate of Eastside competition at Cardinal Relays last Friday in Mentor Ohio. The boys placed 2nd in a tough field of 19 high schools. The girls took podium as well, taking 3rd in a lineup of 14 teams
On the boys side, Junior Porter Gilliland took 4th in a lightning fast heat featuring 20 of the top distance runners in the area. This earns him From the Sidelines “Who Put the Hustle in Award.” Freshman Will Schuldt also stepped up to the occasion, earning 8th in the 1600m run and breaking the 5:00 barrier for the first time.
On the girls side, the Junior long jump relay of Nicole Kemp and Charleigh Doxley got a podium spot with a 2nd place finish. Junior Frances Kaletta earned 8th place in the 1600m run.
Tuesday, April 21
The baseball team faced Buckeye on Tuesday and won 8-4. Senior Nick Hart hit two doubles and a home run, helping send the Rangers to victory. The Rangers will play again tonight against Rocky River at 4:45.
The boys lacrosse team faced Kirtland on Tuesday and lost 2-8. Junior Declan Ziegler had an exemplary game, putting in a lot of work to score the Rangers’ two points. Lacrosse will play again tomorrow, Apr. 24, at 6:30.
Wednesday, April 22
The boys and girls were back in action last night, in a dual meet against the cross-town rival Rocky River.
On the boys side, Freshman Liam Thomascick stepped up to the tough competition in a big way, earning himself a Personal Record in the High Jump. On the distance side, Sophomore Finn Haney also set a Personal Record for himself in the 1600m run; breaking 5:00 and earning 4th.
For the girls, Junior Frances Kaletta earned 2nd in the 1600m run, breaking the 6:00 barrier and earning herself a new Personal Record. This earns Frances From the Sidelines “Who Put the Hustle in Award.”
