Khan’s Pizza and Kebabs is one of the newest restaurants in Lakewood. Having been open for only about two weeks, they are new to the Lakewood restaurant scene.

Khan’s Pizza and Kebabs is a prime example of why Lakewood is such a unique and diverse place. They offer a wide variety of Afghan, Pakistani and Asian food, bringing a taste of other cultures to our local community. Being able to experience other cultures and try new things is a gift, and this is what Khan’s Pizza and Kababs aims to achieve.

Khan’s offers the chance to taste other cultures’ food and cooking styles, and also gives the large Pakistani, Afghan, Asian, and Palestinian populations in Lakewood a taste of home.

“We have a lot of people here, a lot of population living in Lakewood and around this restaurant, so we are trying to bring our people good food, which they have in their own countries,” said worker Abdullah Rahimi.

Restaurants like Khan’s allow residents to feel proud to be from Lakewood because there are places and things that represent their culture.

​Khan’s Pizza and Kebabs is currently operating under the previous owner’s name, Petra’s Pizza; however, they will change the name to Khan’s Pizza and Kebabs in the near future.

“The previous owner was from Jordan, and Petra is a famous place in Jordan, so they put Petra up,” said owner Amir Wahab. “But we already ordered the sign for the new name, it just hasn’t come yet.”

​Not only is this a great place to get food, but it’s also a great place to sit and chill while you eat the delicious food. The employees are super kind and friendly, and both the owner and employees love to share their stories and experiences with their customers.

“This place is in a safe area, and it’s nice and quiet. All the people here are nice and helpful,” said a customer named Mohammed.

​Khan’s Pizza and Kebabs brings a new twist to the normal old pizza. They cook their pizza in an oven using only Halal ingredients. At the end, they sprinkle a light seasoning over the entire pizza to create a delicious, cheesy pizza. Having a place to go where you can get one of your favorite go-to foods cooked in a slightly different way, bringing a unique taste, is amazing. This allows you to spice things up from just your old original pizzas.

​“I tried their pizza yesterday. The pizza was also very good,” Mohammed added.

Khan’s Pizza and Kebabs wants to leave their customers with a taste they can’t find anywhere else, compelling them to come back time and time again. They take pride in every item on their menu, guaranteeing that whatever you try will leave you wanting more.

​The staff also actively seeks out customer feedback to ensure they are meeting the community’s needs. Khan’s Pizza and Kebabs’ goal is to keep growing and improving by listening to customers and doing whatever they can to make the best restaurant possible.

“We have a good response from the community so far, and we are trying to serve the best food we can,” Wahab said. “I love to hear from the customers if there are any changes or anything they would like to see.”

Khan’s Pizza and Kebabs is an overall incredible restaurant with delicious food, friendly staff and a rich cultural history. The restaurant’s main goal is to bring people good food from their country and introduce them to new dishes, allowing them to experience a taste of other cultures. Khan’s Pizza and Kebabs does an extraordinary job at taking local food like pizza and adding their own twist on it, giving customers something they haven’t tasted or tried before.
