Blossom Flower Bar, a women-owned business founded by Megan Robinson, opened its first location in Lakewood, Ohio, in 2023. Robinson has since expanded her flower shop to Chagrin Falls and Columbus. Robinson and her team are dedicated to creativity, hosting workshops and events, and providing personalised service to each customer. Team members welcome customers with open arms, making things easy for first-time visitors.
Robinson began her business selling flowers out of her garage. When she needed more space to run her business, she decided to open a storefront in the small-business-friendly town of Lakewood. Emily Gasper, one of Blossom’s lead designers, said, “There’s a lot of business and stores that people constantly go to and explore, and she really liked this community.”

Blossom is not a typical flower shop. The store offers a seasonal selection, with the waxflower currently available for December. The store is eye-catching, with vibrant pink walls and the central flower bar, where customers can pick their own flowers and design custom bouquets. Customers with less time can pick from a variety of pre-made arrangements on the store’s flower wall.
Gaspar said, “What makes us unique is that we do a very whimsical, multidimensional specialty in arranging flowers…. It’s really eye-catching, breathtaking, and it really leaves a mark in your memory.”
Blossom prioritises the freshness and longevity of its flowers. The team maintains freshness by using a cooler system, giving flowers a fresh cut, and keeping them in fresh water so that the flowers don’t go bad. Gasper, who is also in charge of inventory, said, “We order fresh flowers every couple of days, and so we go very slowly with getting flowers, and because we want to make sure we don’t over-order and then waste it.”
The team also hosts community workshops, ensuring attendees get all the help they need. Kelly Crowley, a team member, loves helping with the events. Crowley said, “We provide all the supplies for you, and then you get to go home having hopefully had a good time.” Participants are able to take home the arrangements they created.
Blossom Flower Bar extends its services beyond the store as well, doing events such as weddings and birthdays. They also offer something called the flower cart that can be brought to any event.
Gasper said, “We did a wedding last summer that had a really beautiful hanging floral installation above the head table.”

The team’s creativity enabled them to create unforgettable floral arrangements for any client’s big day. Emma Herzeg, a new team member at Blossom Flower Bar, said, “Every arrangement is so unique and diverse that it doesn’t follow a specific pattern; it doesn’t have to look so retail oriented.”The design process is often inspired by personal connections; Crowley said, “Making arrangements kind of started as something I did for my grandma, so I kind of keep her in the back of my mind.”
Blossom offers a place to connect with family and friends over an activity where visitors can be artistic and create anything they like. The store also provides customers with the ability to send flowers to anyone, so loved ones who cannot physically be there can still enjoy the flowers.
Herzeg said, “I’ve already brought flowers from here to friends and family and would absolutely send the blossoms away if there was anything they needed or wanted.”
Blossom Flower Bar has thrived at its Lakewood location, catching eyes from the street and creating memories for customers both in person and through their event services.
