Goodkind Coffee, located at 15526 Madison Avenue, is a hidden gem that truly shines. The cafe is quite large and offers plenty of space for whatever you need. Its extensive coffee menu and the large variety of seating make Goodkind perfect for a slow weekend morning with your family or a focused study session.
Approaching almost 10 years in business, the shop is constantly beating its own sales records. This growth is a testament not only to the products they serve, but also to their great customer service and the high quality they hold themselves to. Goodkind is truly a spot that focuses on how to improve and what to do better. Co-owner Gabriel Miller said they were looking to expand sometime in the future and add a kitchen to offer a food menu.

The moment customers step into this coffee shop, they are wowed by the clean, appealing interior. Co-Owner Parker Bell said, “[His] wife custom-designed the image on the wallpaper, and so it’s the only place you’ll ever see it.”
In addition to the unique wallpaper, all the wall pictures are black and white and evoke different historical elements. In a way, the pictures illustrate the paths of people who have come before and the communities they lived in — an inspiration for modern-day human connection and community.
Bell says that Goodkind is “all about community, connection, and nostalgia.” It’s one of the things that sets the coffee shop apart from others in the area, that idea of nostalgia. Goodkind is not just a cafe that sells coffee; it is a dedication to time and quality work. Bell put together something that feels homey and original and then shared it with the rest of the community.
Not only does the nostalgia and dedication to the ambience set it apart, but the fact that they roast all of their own coffee makes Goodkind truly original. The Goodkind Roastery provides all the beans for the cafe and also sells wholesale.
When it comes to their menu, Goodkind has everything you are looking for: the classics like lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, and cortados, as well as super fun seasonal menus.
Customer Mia Dugan says she “loves to stop in after school and get a delicious drink and a banana chocolate chip muffin.”

The Late Winter Menu was released on Monday and features The Hansel and Gretel, a gingerbread syrup iced drink with pistachio cold foam; The Cinnabell, a cinnamon, vanilla, and brown sugar drink with vanilla cinnamon cold foam; and The White Rose, a white chocolate cardamom and rose drink. All three can be made as lattes or as matchas!
The coolest part about their seasonal drinks, though, is that they were created by none other than the baristas of Goodkind Coffee! Miller said, “It’s kind of a competition to see who can get on the menu, and whoever makes the best drinks. It inspires lots of creativity.” Not only are the seasonal menu items created by baristas, but the syrups they use are made in-house as well.
This place is a hot spot for coffee drinkers; on weekend mornings, the line is pretty much out the door, but it’s not just the weekend; this place rarely has empty tables for the taking. In August, Goodkind Coffee expanded its space by adding a room, which nearly doubled its seating capacity.
Goodkind Coffee not only checks every box on the coffee shop requirement list, but exceeds them all: quality food, quality service, and quality environment. The workers make your day and leave you excited to come back. Between the welcoming atmosphere and dedicated staff, it’s a destination that will not disappoint.
