On Saturday, May 9, Cle Glo, a local vegan spray tan company, hosted a charm bracelet-making event for the Lakewood community in celebration of Mother’s Day. The interactive event allowed guests to create bracelets from a table filled with charms. Taking place the day before Mother’s Day, it attracted many mothers and daughters celebrating together.
The environment was welcoming to both newcomers and regulars. Guests were greeted by the mother-daughter duo hosting the event, Lily Richard and Amy Morgenstern. Coffee and snacks also were available, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The event offered a meaningful way for mothers and daughters to celebrate together.

The event’s success stemmed from the enthusiasm of its creators. The Mom & Me Charm Bar Workshop was created by a mother and daughter, adding a personal touch. Richard said she hopes the event brings people together and celebrates the women of Lakewood.
“It’s so fun creating and collaborating with my mom here myself. What inspired me was basically just women’s empowerment in the month of May. And you know, my one friend has her own small coffee business, so I wanted her to pop in, and we’d spend the morning creating with vintage pieces and new charms. It’s really creative,” said Lily Richard, founder of the event and owner of Cle Glo.
Richard and her mother expressed excitement throughout Saturday morning and welcomed attendees into the shop.
“I’m excited to meet new people, and we have such a supportive community. It’s fun to have people in here — besides spray tans, we can also host events and gatherings,” Richard said. “This is a positive impact on the Lakewood community because we’re inviting women of all ages to have a little self-care moment of collaboration, creation, and connection,” she added.
More than just a bracelet-making activity, the event encouraged bonding among mothers and daughters while bringing the community together.
The mother-daughter duo refer to their charms as “Charm Candy,” a name that reflects the wide variety of options available. The event featured hundreds of customizable charms, including both vintage and new pieces. Guests could personalize their jewelry through the many available options, making the experience interactive and creative.
Because the event took place the day before Mother’s Day, it drew many mother-daughter pairs. It provided a unique way to celebrate the holiday weekend and spend time together.

“I think it’s a nice way to find your mom a gift that isn’t super big or expensive, but it also can represent your relationship with your mom very well, since there are many options to pick from,” said Brooke Rahrig, who attended with her mother. “I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the people, and the whole experience. I also liked the coffee bar and snacks — they were a nice touch,” she added.
Attendees spent the morning expressing their creativity and enjoying quality time with family members. “It had a very nice atmosphere, very calming, and very clean, and I definitely would return,” said Heather Rahrig, who attended with her daughter.
“I liked how they had so many different types of charms, and what I thought was cool was how they had charms that you could buy for your pets too. I had never thought of using charms like that for my pet, so I was excited about that,” Rahrig added.
The May 9 event at Cle Glo highlighted that the business is more than just a spray tan shop. The Mom & Me Charm Bar Workshop gave mothers and daughters an opportunity to celebrate together through creativity and community. Guests left with handmade jewelry and memories from the morning’s celebration.
