The boys and girls swim team hosted their opening meet Tuesday at home. This was a tri-meet between them, Fairview and North Royalton. The girls team took first overall, backed by a strong 400 meter relay and a win in the 100 meter breast stroke by Senior Mia Resto. This earns her the From the Sidelines “Who Put the Hustle in Award.”
The boys took second in this meet, beating Fairview. Junior Daniel Zagrebin raced in the 500 meter freestyle for the first time and he dominated the field. Both teams will compete again tonight at Normandy.
The girls’ basketball team played Westlake at home last night, winning 41-35. Trailing 17-24 at halftime, Lakewood made a strong comeback to win the game, tying at the end of the third and taking the lead in the fourth. This was Lakewood’s first home game, marking a successful home opener for the Rangers. You can catch them next on Dec. 6 at North Olmsted High School.
