The girls basketball team took a road trip last night, as they travelled to North Ridgeville. They lost 44-47. Lakewood trailed 44-45 with seconds remaining when they fouled; North Ridgeville made both free throws with 0.8 seconds left. Top performers included Charleigh Doxley, who scored the bulk of Lakewood’s points, and Olivia Andregg, a key playmaker who suffered an injury in the final minutes. Lakewood will next play at Buckeye on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 12:30 p.m.
The boys and girls swim and dive teams each hosted a meet yesterday, and both placed first overall out of four teams. The girls were led by a second-place finish in diving from sophomore Lance Zrnich. The boys won with help from senior Billy Cummings, who won his section of the diving competition. Both teams will compete at home Saturday, Dec. 13, in the Lakewood Sprint Invitational.
