The boys basketball team played at Parma on Tuesday against Valley Forge High School, narrowly edging the Patriots 51-44. Senior Liam McGann provided a spark off the bench, pulling down rebounds and playing strong defense. The team returns to action Friday, Jan. 9, at Bay Village High School.
Lakewood’s gymnastics team had its first meet Jan. 6, 2026, beating Avon Lake, West Geauga, Kirkland and Nordonia. Lilly Tabor won the vault, placed third on the beam and ninth on the floor exercise, earning From the Sidelines’ “Who Put in the Hustle” award. Sophia Kovach finished seventh on vault, eighth on the beam and seventh in the all-around. The Rangers will return to action Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, at Horace Mann.
