Lakewood girls basketball played at North Olmsted, absolutely destroying them with a 57-22 win. Junior Charleigh Doxley earns the From the Sidelines’ “Who Put in the Hustle” award for being the group leader and having a great game. Lakewood girls’ basketball will play next on Saturday, Feb. 7, against Rocky River. Good luck!
Thursday, Feb. 5
The boys and girls Indoor Track teams had their last regular season meet last night at SPIRE Academy in Geneva Ohio. Overall the boys and girls had incredible performances, as each team took 2nd out of 14 tough teams.
The boys were propelled by an incredible 1600m race by Junior James Babson, in which he earned 2nd overall. Junior Porter Gilliland continued his season-long dominance with a resounding victory in the 3200m run. Junior Tyrese Gatling also had himself a day, winning the 60m dash overall.
The girls scored a large portion of points at the hands of Junior Nicole Kemp, who earned 2nd overall in the 60m dash, 3rd in the 200m dash, and was part of the 2nd placed 4x200m relay and a 2nd place 4x400m relay. This earned her From the Sidelines’ “Who Put the Hustle in Award.”
The boys and girls will be back in action for the NEIOTC All-Star Invitational Friday, Feb. 20.
