Girls wrestling competed in the OHSAA State Championship Meet, with Rangers El Tha and Riley Robertson competing. El Tha placed 6th in the state for her weight class, earning her a spot on the state podium. Riley Robertson also wrestled her heart out, but unfortunately did not place. This marks the end of both of their junior seasons, setting up a promising senior year in which they could win states together. From the Sidelines’ “Who Put in the Hustle” award goes to El Tha for her great performance and exemplifying what it means to be a Ranger athlete. Good job this year, Rangers!
The girls lacrosse team opened up their season last Friday, against Saint Vincent-Saint Mary at home. They unfortunately lost this affair 12-1. Senior Gwen Hongosh scored the team’s only goal. Their next game is Thursday, March 19, against Painesville Riverside on the road.
