Big O! As they call Olivia Nagy the 6 foot 3 inch post on the Girl’s Varsity Basketball team. Nagy is a four-year varsity starter. Over the years she has done some great things for the team. Last week the senior averaged 20 points 12 rebounds and 3 blocks in the three wins they had. They beat Rocky River, Midview, and North Ridgeville. Nagy is averaging 18.4 points per game, 10.1 rebounds per game, and 4.1 blocks per game.

In the 51-48 overtime win against North Ridgeville, the Lakewood squad suffered a loss of three starters. With a seven man bench Lakewood pulled out a win in overtime. Making it their sixth win in a row. Nagy came out with 30 out of 51 points. She also had 17 rebounds and 8 blocks.

Olivia Nagy told us how the injuries is the biggest struggle they’ve had throughout the season is the injuries. From the start they suffered injuries. The second game in the season sophomore Morgan Harper suffered an ACL and meniscus tear. Even though she is making great progress on recovering she will not be back until next season. Then they had starter Saher Hamdan become ineligible, making her unable to play. Saher is still a big part of the team. Then in their 45-28 in versus Midview Isabel Cintron, senior, and Christian Massey , junior, had a collision causing Isabel to break her nose and Massey to have a concussion.

Through all the injuries they have managed to come out with six wins in a row.

Nagy also tells us her favorite part of the season is spending time with the girls at practices and team bonding. At he beginning of every season all three teas come together to have a lock in. According to Nagy it is a great time.
