Could this be the worst Kentucky Team Under John Calipari

Kentucky fell out of the AP top 25 this past week. “We are probably somewhere around DEFCON 3”, said Tom Leach, Kentucky’s play-by-play radio announcer, of the level of worrying around the Wildcats.

They believe this isn’t Tom’s worst team. The Wildcats are trending more toward the bubble than any other group he has had in Lexington.

Some bits and pieces are there. Every recruit service had Kentucky with the number 2 recruiting class. Finishing in top 2 o recruiting ranking in an annual occurrence for Calipari at University of Kentucky. The program has ha some one and done prospects, but the pieces seem to still not fit.

The Wildcats are overall 15-5 and 5-3 in SEC. They aren’t performing at the elite levels they are known to perform at. They are ranked 55th in defensive deficiency according to KenPom.com. They are not part of the national title conversation anymore.

John is trying new things with his team by spreading the floor with playmakers and shooting.

“It is nice to have players who when they shoot, you’re surprised they miss”. Over 247 people are wondering if Calipari has that on his team.

What Calipari has is an army of guys that are fit for the college 4’s Kevin Knox, PJ Washington, Wenyen Gabriel and Jarred Vanderbilt are supposed further pros. They would all fit for a power forward position.

We hope everything goes well with this team and wish those 4 guys good luck if they decide to go to the NBA.
