Do you have pounds to shed but aren’t sure on what weight lose plan to try? If you are seriously trying to lose a few pounds, there are three proven levels of intervention, depending on your individual needs. One being a lifestyle change, secondly medication and lastly surgery.

Our first intervention start with you and ends with you! “if you really want to keep weight off, it requires permanent lifestyle changes… There are no quick fixes,” said Mascha Davis, a registered dietitian and national spokeswomen for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetic. “Otherwise, the weight loss is temporary, and you can gain it back when you go to old habits.”

The first step to your weight loss journey should be looking at these three components food, sleep and exercise that you may need to change. ” I call it a trifecta approach , because these three things are essential to keeping weight loss sustainable,” said Davis. For example, in the diet category you should start eating more fiber rich vegetables and drink lots of water. Exercise is a big component whether it’s getting up rom your desk at work every hour, taking the stairs instead of elevator, and parking farther away from entrance than you usually would. “Sleep is essential for weight loss,” Davis said, “I have clients who are doing all these great things with their eating habits and going to the gm, but they don’t realize that a lack of sleep is really wrecking their goals.”

If you don’t see any results after a few months, meet with a professional  who is aware of your health history and can personalize a plan based on you habits and food preferences can be very helpful.
