    Teacher Appreciation Week

    Teacher+Appreciation+Week

This week is dedicated to the people who help shape students’ lives from the time they are 4 years old, that’s right it’s teacher appreciation week. This first began in 1953 when Eleanor Roosevelt convinced members of Congress to set aside an official date to honor and recognize educators.

Recently all over the country teachers have gone on strike because they are underpaid and school funding is still very low. The students have even been marching with them in support.

Starting yesterday there have been several debates on twitter about how teachers should be one of the highest paid jobs and how people should be more respectful to the teachers.

Teachers get freebies at a few local food chains, this is the restaurants way of showing teachers their love and appreciation. At Chipotle, teachers can get a buy- one- get- one free offer from 3p.m. to close on Tuesday for in restaurant orders only. At select locations at Chick-fil-A teachers are offered a deal so call your local Chick-fil-A and see if that offer is available. At Cicis, teachers get a free adult buffet on Tuesday but teachers must bring their valid school ID and a coupon (available at https://cicispizzas.fbmta.com/shared/images/32212254756/32212254756_20180430372379.png). At Piada Italian Street Food, teachers can get buy-one-get-one entrees when they show a faculty ID, Monday through Friday.

Make sure to tell your teachers that you appreciate them and maybe even get them a gift!

Thank you to all the teachers who are shaping student’s lives everyday!
