Millenia Duncan is a senior at Lakewood City Schools. She is a great overall student. She has maintained very good grades throughout her high school career. Millenia is very committed to her school work.

Millennia has always wanted to be a nurse when she was younger. Going to the doctors really fascinated her watching them use all of those different tools. “Looks like a really fun and helpful job”.

Millenia was accepted into the Health Careers West Shore Career Tech Program her sophomore year. She began this program her junior year. She was excited to start her career at such an early age!

In the classroom they focus on working with patients and mannequins. Sites and classroom work is very similar because it’s all hands-on work.

“I would recommend this class to anyone wanted to pursue a medical career because you love it not for the money. It helps you get your foot in the door early. Better to start from the bottom and work your way up as you get older.”

After high school she plans on attending Cuyahoga Community College and plans on going into their nursing program. Millenia is currently  working at a nursing home as an STNA. After college she would love to work in a hospital or doctors office.
