    The Q Renovation

    The+Q+Renovation

The Quicken Loans Arena, home to the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Monsters, is undergoing a major renovation. This remodel will cost $185 million and take two years to complete. The construction began in December of last year, so this means that a majority of the new features will not be open for the 2018-2019 Cleveland Cavaliers season. But the Cavs CEO, Len Komoroski, held a behind the scenes tour to show what fans can expect next fall when construction is finished. This includes an expanded concourse, bars, gathering spaces and an atrium enclosed in glass.

The expanded concourses on both the upper and lower levels will allow for more room for people to walk. As many who have to been to the Q know, the halls were very tight and allowed for little room to move from place to place. People were also not able to walk around the full upper deck, due to the position of the club seats. But soon, fans will be able to travel completely around the Q; there will be an extra hallway and more space.

The new glass enclosed atrium will be located on the north side of the Q, and will be an expansion onto the building. This will allow for people to wait inside when waiting to get into events, instead of waiting on the outside like before.

Many people are excited to see this expensive renovation; as local Cavaliers fan, Lalia Riseng says, “I can’t wait to experience what the new building has in store.”
