    Angelo’s Pizza

    Angelos Pizza

Throughout Lakewood, Angelo’s is considered one of the best pizza places in the city. In 1981, Tom Kess bought the building on Madison and 20 years later the pizzeria blew up. Today, Angelo’s is one of the most successful independent pizzerias in the United States. Before he opened Angelo’s, Tom Kess struggled to get by as he was 8 months behind in rent and slept in his office after working 90 hours a week.

Their menu has a lot to offer as they have 15 different specialty pizzas and a wide variety of toppings to make your own pizza. The sizes of the pizza come in 9, 12 and 16 inches. Not only does Angelo’s have world-class pizza but they also serve many different salads, sandwiches and pastas. There are 10 different salads, ranging from about 4-12 dollars depending on the size. Also, Angelo’s has 12 different sandwiches they offer on their menu that come with fresh-cut chips and a pickle. There are 6 different pastas that you can choose from. A restaurant favorite is the Zig-Zag Chicken Tortellini. Senior Claire Hylton said, “My favorite item on the menu is their buffalo chicken sandwich”.

Along with your meal, Angelo’s offers 18 different appetizers. Some items on the menu include spinach artichoke dip and homemade bread sticks.

Angelo’s is also active within the community. Every year they host a fundraiser for Lakewood High Schools senior class to raise money for prom. They also host many fundraisers throughout the year for high school sports like football, volleyball and hockey to raise many for equipment and trips.
