    Browns Sign RB Kareem Hunt

On Monday the Cleveland Browns signed troubled running back Kareem Hunt. A source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Hunt had signed a 1 year contract and he will also be a restricted free agent after that contract expires. Which means the Browns would control his rights after the next season.

Earlier in the year the Kansas City Chiefs had released hunt in November after a video had surfaced showing him shoving and kicking a women last February at his residence in Cleveland. He hasn’t faced any charges and he wasn’t arrested for the incident in February. He had also been accused of punching a man in June. The NFL had also placed Hunt on the commissioner’s exempt list before he was released by the Chiefs.

Kareem Hunt isn’t eligible to play in the NFL until they clear the investigation on what had happened. A source close to the situation told ESPN’s Dan Graziano that the discipline process was “still going on and nowhere near done.” He had also told him that Hunt had met with the investigators in January as part of the investigation process.

Now that Hunt has signed with the Browns he will be put back on the commissioner’s exempt list until they make a final decision. The Browns general manager John Dorsey had drafted Hunt for the Chiefs in 2017 when Dorsey was the Chiefs GM. I want everyone to know we have done extensive research in regards to this case, this player,” Dorsey had told reporters during media availability on Monday. ” He understands and takes full responsibility for the egregious act he committed. He is extremely remorseful for his actions.”

Hunt also apologized to the woman in the February incident, the Chiefs organization and his family in an interview with ESPN after his release from the Chiefs, He apologized again in a Browns statement on Monday.

Lakewood’s Alexander Blinky said,” I think the Brown made a good decision because everyone deserves a second chance. “
