    Balancing Work and School

    Balancing+Work+and+School

In a world where everything is getting more expensive, it is no surprise that people are entering the workforce at a younger and younger age. According to oklahoman.com, about one in four high school students are employed. That is about three million extra people in the work force.

But, as everyone knows, a high school student has to attend school and get an education as well as working at their place of employment. This is a very tricky thing to master. Both tasks are very time-consuming and very important for an individual. So, how do you balance school and work?

Well, the first thing you need to learn how to budget your time. Work and school both require a serious amount of time and effort. So, you have to be able to manage your time to fit in both school and work. There are many people who would be surprised how hard this is. This often means missing out on things with friends and family.

Even though we are technically still kids, we are expected to act as adults, and a big part of that is responsibility. I know for a fact that most jobs won’t tolerate being late or not performing up to par, regardless of your age. They hired you to complete a task, and if you are incapable of completing this task, they will not hesitate to get rid of you and replace you with someone who will.

So, you have to find a way to get to work on time. With school in the middle of the day, this often means working strange hours. But, that is the sacrifice a student in the workforce will have to make. The second thing you have to do is be committed. If you for into a job and slack off, you don’t deserve to have that job. If they pay you to do a task, they deserve to expect your maximum effort. If you do these things I guarantee you that you will be a successful student in the workforce.
