    The Homecoming Hype

    The+Homecoming+Hype

“It is the best week of the school year,” junior Cara Harmon exclaimed.

There is so much going on this week to look forward to. From spirit week and parade to the dance itself. It is puzzling to think how anyone could think differently.

The week started off with America Monday and everyone brought out their red, white, and blue. On Tuesday, lots of students repped the prep, sporting plaid skirts and button-down shirts. Next up was wild west Wednesday. Flannels, boots, cowboy hats, everything western you could think of we had on. Jersey Thursday had a great turn out with a number on everyone’s back. Finally came class color on Friday – freshman red, sophomores yellow, juniors white, seniors purple, and staff black.

That leads up to the pep rally on Friday afternoon. Spirit packs the gymnasium as students wait for games and announcements of homecoming court.

Later on Friday the spirit parade and game goes on. Since it is homecoming week, the theme for the game is school colors —  purple and gold.

We hope to take a win against North Olmsted and lead us into our Saturday homecoming.

I talked to student Zayd Abdel-Haq and he also confirms, “It is the best week of the year. My favorite part of course is the dance itself, but seeing everyone come together to do the themes is nice to watch. I also like seeing everyone’s take on the theme.”

All in all I truly believe this week is like no other in the school year. Therefore it deserves the hype, and the title of the best week of the year.
