    Kobe Bryant dies at 41

    Kobe Bryant, an NBA legend, and LA superstar passed at the age of 41 on the morning of January 26, 2020, from a helicopter crash along with his daughter Gianna and seven others. Kobe and his daughter were on their way to an AAU basketball game when they experienced weather-related flight issues due to the thick fog.

    The pilot was attempting to climb and reach a higher altitude to avoid a cloud layer when they crashed into the side of a hill. When the helicopter was found it was torn to pieces and engulfed in flames, the debris stretched about 200 yards from the initial impact. Kobe was a very important figure in LA and basketball, he spent 20 seasons in the NBA just with the Lakers, he was a 5 time NBA champion, twice named finals MVP, and his daughter Gianna aspired to be in the WNBA.

    Now tributes and memorials have sprung up all over the city of LA and other parts of the world. Basketball fans and more around the globe are mourning him and wearing his jersey to honor him. Many of his close friends have been visibly affected by his tragic passing. Lebron James and other former teammates were seen in bad shape following his passing. They met up to exchange hugs and mourn their friend. Lebron’s spoke on the tragic event in an Instagram post a short excerpt was “Please give me the strength from the heavens above and watch over me! I got US here! Theres so much more I want to say but just can’t right now because I can’t get through it! Until we meet again my brother!!

    Other big names in different sports have chosen to honor Kobe in their own way as well. Nick Kyrgios a famous tennis player chose to warm up in Kobe’s famous number 24 laker jersey before a big match.
