Top 5 books to read during quarantine

    Top+5+books+to+read+during+quarantine

Even though our schedule as high school students is packed with numerous assignments during these difficult times, we still might find ourselves bored at the end of a long day at home, and a perfect activity to take our mind off our daily stresses is simply reading a good book. As a reader myself, I have created a list of exciting reads that will brighten your day and make you feel better.

1.Dark Matter by Blake Crouch is a fascinating sci-fi thriller about a man who wakes up and sees that his life has suddenly changed. Trying to get back his life, he is thrown into a labyrinth of multiple dimensions that will keep you at the edge of your seat.

2.The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa is a dystopian novel set on an island where objects start disappearing, and with the objects, so do the peoples’ memories related to these objects. But, some people do not forget about the things that disappear, and they are hunted by the mysterious Memory Police.

3.I am the messenger by Markus Zusak features a young man named Ed who stops a bank robbery, but soon after that, he starts receiving some weird anonymous letters. This is a mystery novel, and the best way to read it is without knowing too much about it, so I’m not going any further.

4.Origin by Dan Brown is another plot-driven story about a successful scientist who has made the biggest discovery humanity will ever see, but on the day he was finally going to announce what it was, he gets shot. The main character, Robert Langdon, is now on a mission to find out more about this discovery, before religious groups destroy the evidence first.

5.If you’re looking for a long book, I’d highly recommend The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. Theo Decker, the protagonist, witnesses his mother get killed while the museum they were in gets bombed, but he manages to save himself, as well as a very famous painting: The Goldfinch, which he is now hiding. Will the world ever learn what happened to the painting?
