Browns Week 13 Win

Browns Week 13 Win

William Hyatt

High-scoring is one way to describe the Browns’ game this week against the Tennessee Titans.  To most people’s surprise, after the final whistle blew, the scorecard read 41-35 in the Browns’ favor.

The first half was controlled by the Browns who ran up the score and did it fast.  After only a few seconds into the second quarter, the Browns went up 17-0 after a score from the big man Kendall Lamm.  The next drive for the Browns consisted of another touchdown from DPJ (Donavan Peoples-Jones) making up for his dropped touchdown on the first drive of the game.

A usual lackluster Browns’ defense had no problem this week containing the NFL’s leading rusher Derrick Henry.  Defensive end Myles Garrett is a big reason for this performance ranking in the top 5 defensive players this season.  “The Browns’ defense was actually pretty good.  I thought Myles Garrett did a good job of stopping Derrick Henry and he didn’t hit someone with a helmet this game,” says junior Dominic Toledo of Rocky River High school.

Although the Browns had a great day stopping the rush, they had a hard time with Titans wideout A.J Brown. With a couple of big plays, A.J ended up with 87 yards.  That may look like just a little, but for half of the game he was out with an injury and it seemed that every time he was targeted it ended in a big gain.

Some standout players for the Browns this week include quarterback Baker Mayfield and wideout Rashard Higgins for the offense.  Baker Mayfield went 25-33 with 334 yards and 4 touchdowns.  Higgins also had a great game going for 95 yards with only 6 receptions.  On the defensive side of things, both Myles Garrett and Andrew Sendejo had themselves a good game.

After this win, the Browns bump up their record to 9-3 giving them a 93 percent chance of making the playoffs.  This would be their first time making it into the playoffs since 2002!  We can only pray that this is FINALLY our year.
