“Day Dream” by Tyler Teel
December 7, 2016
Grass grasping my bare feet as I walk down the hill
The wind kisses my cheeks as I wind down the path
I come to the edge of the high grass and my breath holds itself still
Before me is a field blanketed with the most beautiful flowers, my allopath
What a marvelous world! I wish to never leave
So many beauties and adventures I will partake!
What is this? I feel the need to grieve
At the snap of a ruler I jolt up, awake
For there I was staring out the window at the sun’s gleam
Sitting in math class, having a daydream
