    Womens+March+2017

All across America people gathered to protest President Trump as part of the Women’s March. Marches were held in many cities, including Chicago, Manhattan, Los Angeles, Cleveland and Washington D.C. There were easily over one million people who showed their support for the cause at various marches. In the Washington rally there were over 500,000 people according to city officials. According to crowd scientists the march in Washington had three times as many people than President Trumps inauguration. The March was attended by several celebrities, including singer and actress Janelle Monae, actress Ashley Judd, feminist icon Gloria Steinem, actress and activist America Ferrera, filmmaker Michael Moore, and actress Scarlett Johansson, to name a few. The purpose of the Women’s March was to show support for women, LGBTQIA members, people with disability, and women’s rights such as abortion. People wanted to fight against the racist and sexist things President Donald Trump has said. Not only were people marching in protest all across America, people marched in other countries as well. The people who marched in other countries wanted to show their support to us Americans and also show their government that they cared about the matters they marched for. People gathered in London England, Mexico City Mexico,  Sydney Australia, Buenos Aires Argentina, New Delhi India, and other locations.  People all over the world have come together to show that that these causes matter to them and are willing to fight to get them. By the looks of things, the fight has just begun.
