Japan Starbucks gets Cherry Pie Frappuccino

Japan Starbucks gets Cherry Pie Frappuccino

Starbucks in Japan are getting a new tasty treat, a Cherry Pie Frappuccino with a flaky pastry crust. This is unlike any drink here in the United States. To get to the drink, customers will need to poke through the crust with their straw.

The rest of this crazy new drink is made with whipped cream, vanilla-flavoring, bite-sized pieces of pie and cherry compote. The drink is being released in Japan on April 13. However the company has no plans to release the drink in any locations in the United States.

A spokesman said,“We don’t have plans to release the American Cherry Pie Frappuccino in the U.S. right now, but as always we continue to listen our customers’ feedback and look for opportunities to bring fan favorites from around the world to the U.S,”.

This is not the only new drink set to debut in Japan. They are also expecting a Classic Tea Cream Frappuccino. Unlike the chain’s new pie-based drink, the Classic Tea Cream Frappucino won’t have a gimmicky lid.

Instead, the Classic Tea Cream Frappuccino will be made with three kinds of tea leaves and “good-quality milk.” It also comes topped with whipped cream and honey. This delicious drink is going to come out the same day as the Cherry Pie Frappuccino.

Both the American Cherry Pie and Classic Tea Cream Frappuccinos will only be available for a limited time. The American Cherry Pie will be available through May 6, and the Classic Tea Cream will be available through Aug. 8.The American Cherry Pie will cost 640 yen ($5.75). The Classic Tea Cream will be sold for 570 yen ($5.15), respectively.
