This week’s Lakewood Times featured person of the week is Medical Office Management teacher, Mrs. Dolores Martin.

She has been a teacher at Lakewood High School for 33 years.  She will be retiring in two more years. She is married, has two daughters, and a dog. She graduated from Ashland University and was apart of a sorority.

She teaches many classes at Lakewood High School.  As the Medical Office Management teacher, she educates us on how to be prepared for the work field and the health care industry. While in her class you can receive your Microsoft Word certification, Power Point certification, Excel, and Outlook.

She also teaches different computer education courses. She helps each of her medical office management students get jobs or internships for the class. After taking her junior year course you’ll definitely be ready to work in an office setting. You will have very good grammar skills and have great typing skills. She prepares us for the work field by helping us create a resume and helping us with practice for interviews. She’s one of the best teachers in the high school.

She cares about each of her students and helps us in every way she can. She gives us the opportunity to learn different things at our own pace. Over her years being a teacher here, many of her students went on to do very good things in and out the medical field.
