Over the years, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has welcomed countless baby animals, and these past few have been no exception. In addition to their “toddler-age” orangutan, Meerah, and snow leopard, Sameera, there are a number of even younger baby animals, including a giraffe and red pandas.

According to the zoo’s website, the giraffe calf was born on August 6. One month later, he has been named Zawadi, Swahili for “gift.” Visitors were able to vote on which name they favored out of a list of four by making a donation that to support the Future for Wildlife Fund. This program works towards combating declining animal populations and preventing the killing of endangered or threatened animals, including giraffes like Zawadi.

Cleveland Scene reports that a pair of red panda brothers were also been born a little over a week later on August 17. The two and their parents, as well as the two snow leopard parents and one-year-old Sameera, will all be moved to the new Asian Highlands exhibit. The display will be located near the bear enclosures, and will feature a number of animals native to Asia.
